Building your perfect skin routine

Building your perfect skin routine

It is important to know what your skin type you are to build the right skin routine for you.

Dry skin: closed pores, dull, flaky, scaly, or rough.

Oily skin: shiny, greasy, and may have large pores.

Combination skin: dry in some spots (cheeks) combined with oily T zone (forehead, nose, and chin).

Sensitive skin: may sting, burn, or itch after you used non sensitive products.

Normal skin: balanced, clear, and not sensitive.

Important tips:

When Should You Cleanse?

You can dry out your skin by washing it too much, so once/twice a day is enough. In the morning, cleanse your face with lukewarm water and a cleanser if needed. At night, wash with a cleanser to get rid of the day’s dirt. If you exercise cleanse your face afterwards because sweat can clog your pores.

Moisturise

Whether you have young, mature or oily skin, all skin types need to be moisturised every day. Apply it while your skin is still damp from cleansing to help seal in moisture. If you have acne or an oily skin use a moisturiser that’s lightweight and oil-free, so it won’t block your pores.

Put on Sunscreen

Your moisturiser may already have sunscreen in it. But it’s a good idea to use separate protection when your skin will be exposed to the sun as the sun can damage your skin in only 15 minutes. Pick a sunscreen with broad-spectrum protection with an SPF of at least 30. Wear it every day, even if it’s not sunny and even if it’s cold. Reapply every 2 hours.

Don’t Wear Makeup to Bed

Leaving makeup on your skin can clog your pores, causing acne. Remove make-up with a gentle cleanser or makeup remover. Use a soft cloth or cotton pads.
