Frequenty Asked Questions

Due to Covid 19 current situation you are expected to follow some new guidelines when booking an appointment or when attending to a treatment.

The usage of mask in the premises is compulsory. If you forget yours, a disposable mask or a reusable one (subjected to availability) can be provided to you at a cost.

At the entrance shoe covers are provided and you are expected to put them on. Alcohol gel is also provided and your expected to sanitise your hands ant entrance and exit points.

You may book an appointment by phone, via email and directly in the clinic.

Please be aware that bookings must be made with the payment of a deposit, non-refundable if you miss your appointment without 24 hours’ notice prior to the appointment due date. Please refer to our Terms & Conditions available on the website or in the clinic.

Payments can be made over the phone and all cards are accepted under the normal circumstances.

Depending on the treatment, preparation may change. Ask the available consultant what further preparation you need. The general information is:

Eat a light meal (overeat or starvation are a contraindication for treatment). If fasting the patient will need to sign an ’empty stomach’ form. 

Don’t drink any alcohol or take any drugs before treatment (intoxication is a contra-indication for treatment)

Avoid tea or coffee as caffeine remains in your body for long hours.

Avoid smoking before treatment.

Traditional Chinese Medicine means of diagnosis include the observation of your tongue. The intake of caffeine and tobacco prior to the treatment may leave signs on it that can be misleading for the consultant.

If you have the habit of brushing your tongue when you brush your teeth, please try to avoid brushing your tongue on the treatment day as that information can be of precious diagnosis help.

Wear, whenever possible, loose clothes on the treatment day.

If it makes you feel more comfortable, bring someone with you. Please be aware that accompaniers can only be present in the treatment room when authorised by the patient, exception made when the patient is a minor of the age. Please refer to minor of age requirements for treatment.

Rainbow – Well-being Therapy Centre is registered within the Rochdale Council and complies with the Data Protection Act 1998, therefore exercises patient confidentiality and data protection.

You will be asked to give some personal details.

You will be asked to sign a written consent for the treatment.

You will be asked if you are or you have been a cancer patient, even if on remission at the time of your booking.

You will be asked for written consent to contact your GP if required.

You will be asked several questions related to your main complaint, your medical history and family medical history to fully advise you to be best of the consultants’ ability. Please make a list of all symptoms of your condition.

If you are having any medication, you will be requested to give information of its name, action, mg, frequency and quantity.

If you can’t fully understand English language, you MUST inform the clinic by the time you book your appointment.

Although all consultants are multi-lingual, but the required language may not be spoken, therefore arrangements may need to be made to better deliver a high standard quality service.

The languages spoken within the consultants are:

English, Mandarin, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian. Other languages translation can be provided if known before hand, subject to an extra fee.

If your condition or complaint had been investigated by your GP, please bring as much information as possible.

Not necessarily. Please wear loose clothes for treatments like Reflexology or Acupuncture. In Acupuncture, it may happen that the area of your body that is going to be treated is un accessible therefore you will be required to remove that specific piece of clothing. If you are booking a massage (Full Body Massage), you are expected to remove your clothes remaining with your underwear or underpants. All these cases happen under the most respectful environment. All consultants will ensure that Privacy, Dignity and Comfort are priorities.

It may happen that the consultant needs to leave the patient for a few moments. If the treatment is already occurring than a radio wireless key fob with a push down button is given to the patient while the consultant is away from the treatment room.

In the event of needing the consultant, the patient will push the button and a sound is produced to a main panel and all consultants will be able to hear it and to identify immediately which room to refer to.

In the case of a frail patient or a minor of age, the consultant will always remain in the room .

There is an appointed First Aid Consultant during treatment hours. Beyond that, the Clinic is equipped with a top of the range Alarm panel, connected to a 24/7 monitoring station. In the event of an emergency, all consultants have a PA (panic button) key fob that by being pressed establishes a connection with the monitoring station within 20 seconds. The operator in the Monitoring Station is fully trained and knows immediately the procedures to put in place when an emergency emerges and have access to all emergency services.

The clinic is equipped with a top of the range Alarm panel, connected to a 24/7 monitoring station. In the event of an emergency, all consultants have a PA (panic button) key fob that by being pressed establishes a connection with the monitoring station within 20 seconds. The operator in the Monitoring Station is fully trained and knows immediately the procedures to put in place when an emergency emerges and have access to all emergency services.

In the case of conflict management, the same system works as a deterrent to those who may try to generate a conflict.

A full risk assessment has been done and is repeated on intervals of 12 months to deliver a comfortable, relaxing and secure environment.

Yes! Rainbow Health group complies with local authority requirements, with the British Acupuncture, and The Guild of Holistic Therapies Codes of practice, Towergate Insurance broker and Public Health England Guidelines.

All rooms are cleaned and sterilised with insurance recommended solution to ensure disinfection, and anti-viral spray is used, after each patient.

The towels used during treatments are replaced after each patient and washed in the premises.

The therapy couch is cleaned in between treatments with antiviral solution and sprayed with anti-viral spray. Couch disposable paper roll is used to cover the couch for each patient for needle related treatments and K-laser therapy and disposed of after treatments. Towels are used in the case of massage and other skin treatments and are changed after each patient.
